Message from the President
Dear Esteemed Members,
It is with deep gratitude and a profound sense of responsibility that I accept the honor of serving once again as President of the Korean Society
of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (KSPCCM). I would like to begin by sincerely thanking each and every one of you for your unwavering dedication
to protecting the lives of children, even in the most challenging circumstances.
Since our establishment in 2016, the Society has remained committed to advancing pediatric critical care medicine in Korea — both in academic depth
and clinical practice. We have successfully operated a variety of educational programs and training courses aimed at enhancing professional expertise,
and we will continue to offer high-quality learning opportunities that meet the evolving demands of our field.
To improve the standard of care nationwide, we are strengthening the network among pediatric intensive care units across the country, developing
clinical practice guidelines tailored to local needs, and actively supporting research initiatives led by our members. We are also attentive to the
real-world challenges faced by clinicians and will continue to advocate for practical improvements in the clinical environment and the protection of
professional rights. At the same time, we will engage in public awareness campaigns and policy initiatives to elevate the visibility and importance of
pediatric critical care.
Our official journal, Archives of Pediatric Critical Care (APCC), launched in 2023, is currently in pursuit of accreditation as a member journal of
the Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors. We are committed to enhancing the journal’s academic quality and expanding international collaborations,
in order to align with global standards and elevate the Society’s presence both in Korea and abroad.
Pediatric critical care medicine holds the vital responsibility of safeguarding the lives and health of future generations. Our Society remains
steadfast in this mission, working to ensure that every child can grow up healthy and safe within their family. While many challenges lie ahead,
I firmly believe that through solidarity and collaboration, we can shape a brighter future for pediatric critical care in Korea and beyond.
Thank you once again for your continued support, dedication, and engagement with the Society.
Warm regards,
August, 2025
Seong Jong Park, M.D., Ph.D.
